Salone Five C

The public initiative

Salone Five C

The Five C Theory is the intellectual framework. Salone Five C is the community-facing conversation and participation initiative that helps people read, question, discuss, and act together.

01

The framework

The Five C Theory explains how culture, corruption, citizenship, contentment, and complacency can reinforce one another in public life.

02

The initiative

Salone Five C creates responsible ways for readers, students, communities, institutions, and diaspora groups to examine those patterns together.

Start with participation, not membership

Six practical ways to enter the conversation.

01

Community conversations

Structured local discussions grounded in evidence, responsibility, and practical public questions.

02

Reading circles

Small groups using the book, Reflection Guide, Discussion Guide, podcast, and video resources.

03

Youth and university dialogue

Carefully facilitated conversations about citizenship, institutions, leadership, and civic agency.

04

Diaspora engagement

A route for Sierra Leoneans abroad to connect resources, experience, responsibility, and partnership.

05

Civic workshops

Practical sessions that map a public problem through all Five Cs and identify a measurable point of interruption.

06

Selected partnerships

Collaboration with credible schools, universities, media, civic, professional, faith, and community organizations.

The public-question method

Move from a broad complaint to a question that can be preserved.

  1. ObserveWhat is happening, to whom, and how often?
  2. IdentifyWhich institution, rule, budget, office, or decision carries responsibility?
  3. DocumentWhat evidence, dates, records, costs, or responses can be preserved?
  4. AskWhat precise question requires a public answer?
  5. Follow throughWho will keep the question visible and record the response?

Evidence before accusation

Separate documented fact, lived experience, interpretation, allegation, and political opinion.

Standards before personalities

Apply the same civic expectation to allies, opponents, institutions, and ourselves.

Action without spectacle

Prefer measurable questions, shared responsibility, careful records, and sustained follow-through.

Development stage

No complex membership system is being launched.

The initiative will begin with events, email communication, free resources, reading circles, educator collaboration, and selected partnerships. Chapters, certification, membership, and an annual forum should follow only when participation demonstrates a real need.

Participation and partnership

Propose a conversation, reading circle, workshop, institution, or community partnership.
